Long-term suggestions and ideas for solving school busing issues dominated discussion during Tuesday night’s Columbus City School Board of Education meeting — one day after theColumbus City School Board President Jennifer Adair said after the meeting that she is optimistic that changing the bus routes will help eliminate the hundreds of complaints from parents about their students not being picked up or delays in picking up and dropping off, including for those attending charter or nonpublic...

Students, families and schools will be informed of the new bus routes, schedules and assignments by the end of November, the district has said.Besides the bus driver shortage and software issues the district blamed in its announcement Monday, Adair also suggested after the meeting that the current board had inherited some policies from previous boards that contributed to the transportation problems.

Board member Eric Brown said he encourages people to rethink walking to school, and mentioned wanting to reconsider the start and end times for the school day.
