The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will perform in Columbus for the first time in more than a quarter-century June 17-18, 2023 when the Columbus Air Show takes to the skies at Rickenbacker International Airport. If you hear the roar of fighter jets over Columbus later this week, try to sneak a peek, because the famous Blue Angels are coming to town.The Blue Angels are scheduled to do a rehearsal demo on Friday.
The Super Hornet is 60 feet long and has a wingspan of 44 feet. That makes it 25% larger than the old F/A-18 Hornet. The Blue Angels feature four jets that fly from the traditional diamond formation with the flight leader giving commands over the radio during the performance. The Blue Angels will also show off their support aircraft, the C-130T Hercules nicknamed "Fat Albert.", they do not release the specific times of each performance during the day. Most of the performances will happen between noon and 4 p.m. The Blue Angels are typically the finale when they perform.
