San Diego State fights back to stun the Crimson Tide, setting up one game for a spot in basketball Final Four
Anything is possible now. San Diego State can sharpen its sights on the moon, the stars and the rocket ships that soar out of space-happy Houston, the landing pad for college basketball’s Final Four.
They were down nine points, for the love of Naismith, with 11:40 left. The situation, a thunderous dunk by Nick Pringle off a bullet pass from Brandon Miller, represented more than the danger zone. As Alabama fans roared, the elite defenders who can be offensively challenged seemingly found themselves in the game-over zone.
Alabama, the highest-scoring team in the country, is fluid offensive poetry. The Aztecs annoy and antagonize teams out of their flow, their comfort zone and, often, their on-court minds. They made things feel ugly when ugly was needed. Grind-y, when grind-y was required.
