A vigil is scheduled Saturday night to honor Tacoma convenience store owner Charlie Park.

Police arrested Angel Anthony Mendez on Wednesday after a robbery at a different store, before linking him to Park’s murder. The state crime lab was used in this determination.
Sue Park, Charlie’s sister-in-law told KOMO News Charlie was an honest guy who tried to make his community better. She said Park is from South Korea and with his wife, he started the business 16 years ago in Tacoma after they moved to the states. Park has three children in their 20s. “It’s messed up. How some young punk can come in and just shoot somebody,” McCarther Sr. said. “I hope you rot in hell. I hope you rot in hell! I hope you get what’s coming to you.”
