During the COP27 summit in Egypt on Nov. 11, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi promoted the Inflation Reduction Act as a model for other nations to follow.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told delegates at the COP27 summit in Egypt on Friday that the landmark climate legislation Congress passed this summer was “so historic in terms of its vision” and has spread hope far beyond U.S. borders. Pelosi said that in their short time at the U.N. climate summit, U.S. lawmakers have received praise for the Inflation Reduction Act, which dedicates roughly $369 billion to boosting renewable energy and combating climate change.
“We’ve spoken to leaders from around the world, parliamentarians from around the world,” Pelosi said. “And there is a recognition that the Inflation Reduction Act has made a significant difference and will make a significant difference.”
