A rare and detailed fabric swatch from Queen Elizabeth II's coronation gown from 1953 and its design process is hitting the auction block on May 16. Experts say the item could sell for $2,500.
Also up for sale at the auction will be hand-drawn"detailed watercolor clothing designs" dating back to 1952, and earlier, for then-Princess Elizabeth and the Queen Mother.
This detailed embroidery fabric sample connected to Queen Elizabeth II's coronation gown is going up for auction on May 16. The fabric swatch depicts a"detailed floral beaded pattern" similar to the one worn by Queen Elizabeth on the day of her June 1953 coronation.
