The blaze in Nevada County covered 904 acres and was 20% contained as of Thursday night.
NEVADA COUNTY – Firefighters on Thursday continued to gain ground against the Rices Fire burning along the Yuba River in Nevada County.“We worked aggressively throughout the day and have seen very little fire growth,” said Cal Fire Nevada-Yuba-Placer Unit Deputy Chief Jim Hudson at a news conference.
Hudson said crews were working in difficult conditions. According to Cal Fire, 13 firefighters have been injured on the job.
