Davidson running back D.J. Butler was the top vote-getter in Week 9 with 35 percent of the 5,908 ballots cast in the poll. Butler ran for 315 yards and four touchdowns as the Warriors topped Foley 52-41. Davidson, running its single-wing offense, improved to 4-4 on the year.
Jerrian Graham of Vigor finished second with 23 percent of the vote. Graham, a University of South Alabama commitment, threw for 208 yards and two touchdowns as the Wolves beat Elberta 46-7 to improve to 6-2 on the year. He was also 7-of-11 passing and scored a TD on a 2-yard run. Clarke County senior A.J. Ezell was third in the poll after running for 120 yards and scoring four touchdowns as the Bulldogs rolled past St. Luke’s 54-7.
Voting for the Cunningham Bounds Football Player of the Week opens on Sundays during the season and runs through Wednesday.
