Dada Daily and Recess completely transformed a bustling Broadway corner into an immersive and health-driven experience.
And given they are neighbors in Noho, it was about time Claire Olshan, founder of Dada Daily, and Ben Witte, founder of Recess, joined forces.
Upon arrival to last night’s cocktail party at the Recess pop-up shop, guests were welcomed with tablescapes draped in elegant flora and Dada Daily favorites including their, which both energize and cure a sweet tooth. And to wash that down, Recess, the CBD-infused sparkling beverage, took over the cocktail menu with libations with names like “One Weird Trick,” “A Dream Inside a Dream,” and “Good Idea.
While both brands have a firm pulse on the trending wellness market, their products also aim to push consumers beyond eating and drinking. “Ben doesn’t just want you to drink a Recess, he wants you to take a recess,” Olshan explains. “The same way we at Dada want to elevate the boring health food snack by giving it a surrealist lifestyle.”
As guests including Alexandra Hamile, Leandra Medine Cohen, Danielle Duboise, Jared Jacobs, Jenny Walton, Tanya Taylor, Lisle Richards, and Eric Marx mingled about the space, many grabbed an extra, guilt-free handful of the brussels sprouts and cheesy cauliflower popcorn. Both recipes were crafted by Olshan, who explained, “I’m lucky that I’m constantly inspired by my surroundings, especially my son, who continues to push the stale snacking boundaries.
