The Daily News All-Area girls wrestling team for the 2021-22 season includes the wrestler of the year and six selections for the First Team.
Katie Gomez, Birmingham, Sr.
Gomez’s mindset led her to an overall record of 48-1 this season. Wrestling at 126 pounds, her senior campaign included winning titles at the Hillcrest Trojan Wars, Santa Ana Lady Saints, the Tournament of Champions, Queen of the Hill and the Ayala Invitational.In the postseason, she won her third Los Angeles City Section title and placed for the third time at the CIF State Championships.
