. Customers will have to be patient: The closing party is Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023. The last day in business is Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2023. Then, there’ll be no Grapevine for at least a few weeks while the staff and owners move the remaining mementos to a new space that’s nearly eight times bigger.
Many have wondered: Can they recreate the Grapevine in a different place? Looking back, the 1996 plan for the bar was to be “a wine bar where you could have a nice glass of chardonnay and listen to Alice in Chains,” Michelle says. She’s hoping for the same vibe — and more importantly, the same clientele — when the Grapevine moves.
