Mayor Eric Johnson’s hubris got the best of him in a battle of the wills with City Manager T.C. Broadnax.
But this is Dallas City Hall, so forget about restraint. Mayor Eric Johnson and some of his council colleagues have embarrassed themselves and the city with the way they handled an attempt to fire City Manager T.C. Broadnax. What happened instead was a frenzy of council activity behind the scenes to accelerate ta council discussion about Broadnax’s performance. Several council members played a role, privately urging the city manager to resign and signing memos to set up a discussion and vote about his employment.
