Eriksson will become a free agent.
Eriksson was selected 44th in 2018, and became the highest draft pick by the Stars to not sign since 2004 second-round pick Johan Fransson did not earn an NHL contract. Eriksson, 21, was projected to be a lanky goal-scorer with his 6-5 frame, but struggled to produce any offense while playing professionally in Europe, going two seasons without a goal. In 2019-20, he had zero goals and three assists in 29 SHL games. In 2020-21, he had zero goals and four assists in 36 SHL games.
This season, Eriksson played in Finland’s Liiga, finishing with five goals and five assists in 38 games.Äntligen måndag!
