Dallas Symphony announces 2023-24 season lineup
Soloists making DSO debuts include pianist Jeremy Denk, clarinetist Anthony McGill, trumpeter Tine Thing Helseth and mezzo Leonard. Coming back to the Meyerson Symphony Center will be pianists Ax, Alessio Bax, Rudolf Buchbinder and Jan Lisiecki, violinist Maxim Vengerov and singers Karen Slack, Kelley O’Connor, Matthias Goerne and Eric Owens. DSO principals Alexander Kerr and Nathan Olson and flutist David Buck also will perform concertos.
Luisi and the DSO will complete their recorded cycle of the Brahms symphonies with the Third and Fourth, and organist Bradley Hunter Welch will join for a new recording of the Saint-SaënsSymphony. The orchestra also will continue its digital concert series, Next Stage, available on demand on the orchestra’s website.Principal Pops conductor Jeff Tyzik will lead three of nine Pops programs in 2023-24, featuring music from the Prohibition era, from Harlem hot spots and country hits.
Holiday offerings will include the traditional Christmas Pops and New Year’s Eve concerts, and a concert by the King’s Singers.
