The Houston-based auto billionaire is making big moves out west in Hollywood’s independent-film space. Dan Friedkin was recognized as part of 2018's Variety500 presented by VZMediaPlatform
Houston billionaire Friedkin, through 30West, which he formed in 2017 with longtime CAA film finance and sales group co-head Micah Green, made his mark in independent film, finding early success with such movies as “I, Tonya.” He is principal and co-founder of Imperative Entertainment, which develops, produces and finances original and branded content.
After forming the business with Bradley Thomas in 2014, Friedkin was exec producer on “The Square” and producer on the Oscar-caliber “All the Money in the World.” In early 2018, 30West acquired a majority in theatrical marketing and distribution biz Neon. Friedkin is chairman and CEO of The Friedkin Group, a consortium of entertainment, automotive, hospitality, golf and adventure companies.
