The satellite known as Rhessi, which spent 16 years recording more than 100,000 solar events, is set to plummet into the atmosphere sometime this week.
You'll need to get away from city lights to have a shot of seeing this special comet in the night sky.
NASA said Tuesday that the reentry location is not being disclosed, given lingering uncertainty over when and where it might go down. Most of the 660-pound satellite should burn up upon return, but some parts are expected to survive.
