Academy Award-winning actor Daniel Kaluuya is set to make his screenwriting debut with the upcoming dystopian thriller The Kitchen for Netflix.
Actor Daniel Kaluuya will be making his screenwriting debut with the upcoming futuristic Netflix film, The Kitchen. Kaluuya has been actively making a name for himself since his 2017 breakout role in Jordan Peele’s directorial debut film, Get Out. The Academy Award-winner has since landed notable roles in Black Panther, Queen & Slim, and Judas and the Black Messiah, for which Kaluuya nabbed both an Oscar and Golden Globe Award for his performance as Black Panther Party head Fred Hampton.
The upcoming Netflix dystopian film, The Kitchen, will act as Kaluuya’s screenwriting debut with co-writer Joe Murtagh, as reported by Deadline. The futuristic film takes place in London in 2044, where the city’s working class is being forced to live on the outskirts of town following the elimination of public housing. The story follows Izi and Benji, two residents of The Kitchen, London's last village for people who refuse to move out of the city.
