MIAMI — Daniel Vogelbach took his anemic spring training production in stride.
“It can be so one way or the other,” Vogelbach said. “I’ve had some springs where I have been the best player out there and then I go into the season terrible. And then last year I had the worst spring I’ve ever had and I think had my best season.”He finished the season with a .793 OPS combined for the Pirates and Mets.
“It’s pretty special and I think the thing that makes it the most special is everybody works together so well. When someone sees something or thinks they can help somebody they do and that is huge in this game with how good pitchers are.”
