The annual Day of the Dead River Parade will return to the San Antonio River Walk this year on Oct. 27.
The parade will take place from 7-8:30 p.m. along the River Walk with river barges showcasing unique cultural symbols associated with Day of the Dead.In addition to the parade, there will be celebrations from noon to 10 p.m. Oct. 27-28 and noon to 7 p.m. on Oct. 29 at La Villita Historic Village where visitors will be able to see giant spirit animals known as Alebrijes, enjoy live music, face painting, view altars and browse artisan markets.
There will also be food trucks and a culinary village for visitors. La Villita Historic Village is located at 418 Villita St. in downtown San Antonio.exhibit will open mid-October at La Villita Historic Village. “This extraordinary display features over 25 giant skulls meticulously adorned by the talented artists of San Antonio,” according to theAnother free event celebrating Día de Los Muertos will be taking place at Hemisfair on the same weekend.
, San Antonio’s largest Día de Los Muertos festival, will celebrate its 11th anniversary at Hemisfair from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Oct. 28 and noon to 9 p.m. on Oct. 29. Hemisfair is located at 630 Nueva St.and KSAT+ from 8-10 p.m. on Nov. 1.
