A New York court found that “the President is still a person, and he is not above the law”

President Trump must face a defamation lawsuit brought by a former reality-show contestant, a New York appellate court ruled Thursday, striking down his argument that a sitting president should be shielded from such claims.

In overruling a request by Mr. Trump to halt or throw out the two-year-old case, the court found that “the President is still a person, and he is not above the law.”
