For the 10th time this season, Lake Creek held an opponent under 40 points. This time, it allowed the Lions to remain undefeated in district at 6-0, 17-6 overall, and provide some cushion against A&M Consolidated, which fell to 4-2 in district. The Lions were quick to close driving lanes while scurrying out to sharpshooter Jessica Ransom, who finished with a game-high 18 points, but missed eight of 10 3-point attempts and a handful of close shots in the paint.“I love the zone,” Golden said. “Everybody knows their role and everybody does it well. I like my role because I’m always in help . They always know I’m there and always know I’ve got their back.
Offensively, Lake Creek was far from its best. The Lions had 23 turnovers and misfired early and often, which allowed A&M Consolidated to stay within striking distance until late.
