The Delaware River Port Authority is seeking contractors to makeover the toll collection systems at its four bridges between N.J and Philly. But one thing isn't included.

The second phase of work calls for the design, development, integration, installation, and testing of the roadside Toll System and training employees how to use. Maintaining the system is the third phase.

The DRPA installed its Electronic Toll Collection System in 1999, which has been operated and upgraded by its current contractor,, which converted New York’s MTA bridges and tunnels to all electronic, cashless toll collection. Awarding a contract is several months away, Williams said. Contractor qualifications will need to be evaluated and a shortlist of qualified vendors will be sent a request for proposals for the design, installation, integration, and maintenance of a new tolling system, he said.
