Hackers making big bizarre orders from stolen Deliveroo accounts, like a £150 order of ice cream and cakes.

Share to twitterReports of Deliveroo account thefts are coming in weekly. Hackers are making big, bizarre orders, like £150 in cake and ice cream. If you've had your Deliveroo account hacked in recent months, it may be that the thief bought your password from a dark Web dealer for as little as $6.

Such hacks are small fry in the grand game of global cyber fraud. But they're causing distress to a significant number of customers at Deliveroo, the $2 billion-valued British food and drink delivery company, which received a major investment from Amazon earlier this year. She also discovered a Deliveroo phishing page for sale on the same site. The ad even came with a recommendation for the type of scam to run: offering a free £25 gift card in response to a survey, during which they could ask for their credit card and account details. The seller even boasts that this Deliveroo-based scam is more successful than any similar attempts to steal people's PayPal or banking data.
