North Ridgeville is mourning the loss of veteran councilman and civic leader, Dennis Boose, who passed away at the Avon Cleveland Clinic Aug. 23 at the age of 67.
Boose, a democrat, was serving his seventh consecutive term as the Ward 2 representative on city council. He previously served as a council member At-Large from October 1998 to December 1999. He was in the process of running for reelection in November against Eric Todd Shaffer.
As an active North Ridgeville resident, Boose was involved with many community organizations including board member and president of the former Junior Achievement of Lorain County, North Ridgeville Baseball/Softball Boosters and City Baseball/Softball program. He was president and coach of several city baseball leagues and coached for the soccer league.
Mayor Kevin Corcoran expressed his condolences during his weekly city address noting that Boose’s passing “will be a great loss for the city, and for me personally. Dennis served the city well for many, many years.”
