At age 49, nine years since his retirement from baseball, Hall of Fame Yankees legend Derek Jeter is officially an Old-Timer.

On Monday, the Yankees announced that their forever team captain has agreed to participate in his first Old-Timer’s Day ceremonies at Yankee Stadium, Sept. 9, as the club honors the 25there will not be an Old-Timer’s game

It’s also the 75th Yankees Old-Timer’s Day, and 28 of Jeter’s former 1998 teammates are scheduled to attend. Yankees’ stars Hideki Matsui, Willie Randolph, Ron Guidry, David Cone and Bucky Dent have also accepted invitations, as have the widows of Thurman Munson, Whitey Ford, Billy Martin and Bobby Murcer.Jeter had been famously reluctant to attend previous Yankees Old-Timer's days since his retirement following the 2014 season, and his Hall of Fame induction in 2019. He also previously served five years as CEO of the Miami Marlins.
