'Difficult for me': Nonbinary TheCrownNetflix actor decries gendered awards shows
British actor Emma Corrin says awards shows with separate categories for men and women are"difficult" as a nonbinary person.
“I don’t think the categories are inclusive enough at the moment,” Corrin, who is biologically a woman, told the BBC in a radio interview. Corrin is known primarily for portraying Diana, Princess of Wales, in Netflix's The Crown. The actor was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in 2021 for the role.“It’s difficult for me at the moment trying to justify in my head being nonbinary and being nominated in female categories," Corrin explained.
