‘The acquisition of Comcast’s stake in Hulu at fair market value will further Disney’s streaming objectives,’ company says
Walt Disney Co. officially plans to buy the remaining 33% stake in Hulu that it doesn’t own, the company said Wednesday afternoon.
“The acquisition of Comcast’s stake in Hulu at fair market value will further Disney’s streaming objectives,” Disney said in a release.It expects to pay about $8.61 billion for the one-third stake, “representing NBCU’s percentage of the $27.5 billion guaranteed floor value for Hulu that was set when the companies entered into their agreement in 2019 minus the anticipated outstanding capital call contributions payable by NBCU to Disney.
