The Dixie Fire has so far burnt more than 301 square miles of timber and brush in Plumas and Butte counties in California and continues to rage on.

The Dixie Fire, reportedly 21 percent contained, still threatens over 10,000 homes in California, the Associated Press reported.

The fire charred more than 301 square miles of timber and brush in Plumas and Butte counties, though an official, updated damage estimate was not available Sunday.Ten thousand homes are in danger as the Dixie Fire in Northern California rages on. The lightning-caused fire has burned 67 homes, mainly cabins, and at least 2,000 houses were under evacuation orders. In southwest Montana, officials were focusing on structure protection for three fires amid weather forecasts of rising temperatures, low humidity and westerly winds this week, factors that could produce explosive growth.
