Chris Taylor filled in for the injured Betts as the leadoff hitter and reached base three times in the first six innings on two walks and a two-run double. “This franchise has been around for a very long time. A lot of winning seasons. A lot of great players have come through here,” Freeman said. “So just to be able to be mentioned with some of these guys I’m climbing the leaderboard on, it’s pretty cool. It’s been a wonderful two years so far, so hopefully I can just keep re-breaking it for the next couple weeks.”
“I’ve been swinging the bat really well pretty much all season long, consistently have been pretty good. So that’s what I’m more happy about is that when I do slump a little bit I end it real fast and get back on the right side of things.”
