Lux, slated to replace Trea Turner as the everyday shortstop, stumbled awkwardly while running the bases and told the trainer that he felt “something pop.”
PEORIA, Ariz. — The Dodgers’ plans to replace Trea Turner at shortstop might have taken a turn Monday afternoon.
After lying on the ground near third base for several moments, Lux had to be helped to his feet by Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and a trainer. He rode in the back of a cart to the visiting clubhouse and later left to undergo an MRI. Roberts said Lux was “pretty shaken up” after the play and told the trainer that he felt “something pop” in the outside of his knee.
