Thompson, who was hitless in his last 30 at-bats before Wednesday’s game but has always had reverse splits, is looking to rediscover his swing.
LOS ANGELES — Exactly one month since he last had a hit, Trayce Thompson was in the Dodgers’ starting lineup on Wednesday afternoon amid a new strategy.
And it isn’t even all that new of a scenario after Thompson batted .174 with a .621 OPS against lefties last season and .308/1.010 against righties. But offense is where players are made and the Dodgers feel like changes in that area could be on the horizon. When Thompson was at his most productive last season, his pitch recognition pushed him into a regular role after his mid-June arrival.
