Following the shooting in Douglas County, the sheriff's office notified area hospitals to be on the watch for anyone who come in and is suffering from a gunshot wound.
Weekly, in a news conference at the scene, said the pedestrian, armed with a rifle, ran north and got into the passenger side of a white Chevrolet Tahoe which sped off. The suspect vehicle, from which shots were fired from a handgun, is described as a dark-colored Nissan sedan.

Several roads in the area were shut down by the incident, including a section of Inverness Parkway. An investigation is ongoing.
