In an email to SFGATE, Tamara Aparton, a spokesperson for the Recreation and Park Department, wrote,"Damaging green spaces that belong to everyone is a pretty warped idea of a good time. Luckily our city parks and those who care for them are resilient."
These marks in the grass at Golden Gate Park were caused by someone doing doughnuts, San Francisco's Recreation and Park Department confirmed.Aparton confirmed that someone did doughnuts in the grass at two different locations in the park either late Friday night or early Saturday morning — once at Porch Meadow, where the picture posted to Reddit was taken, and once near 47th Avenue and Fulton Street.
