Michael Verdel, 71, also know as “the rabbi,” and Posley Sulaiman, 31, picked up Kelsey Steels at his apartment in the Bronx, New York on March 4 and brought him to New JerseyVerdel, of the Bronx, and Sulaiman, of Detroit, are charged with murder, felony murder, conspiracy, robbery and two weapons offenses apiece. Steels, 31, was found by hikers in the early afternoon, officials said.
Verdel has been extradited to New Jersey and is scheduled for a detention hearing on Monday, prosecutors said. He is being held at the Essex County jail, according to online records.Additional information wasn’t immediately available.
