A dust storm that is severely limiting visibility has forced the closure of westbound lanes of Interstate 70 for about five miles.

The closure comes amid a dust storm warning for the highway in Watkins, Bennett and Strasburg that lasts until 5:45 p.m. The warning says there is near zero visibility because of blowing dust and that the visibility problem could make travel life-threatening.If ever caught in blowing dust, pull over to the side of the road. Better yet: Slow down, or even stop if you can before entering the dust!
