A renowned Dutch photographer celebrated for his diverse portfolio, including captivating images of Amsterdam's gay nightlife and portraits of the Dutch royal family, has passed away at the age of 64. Erwin Olaf's distinctively stylized photographs were showcased in galleries worldwide throughout his extensive career.
His website indicated that Olaf recently underwent a lung transplant, his sudden deterioration led to his untimely passing. Erwin Olaf, an acclaimed Dutch photographer whose work documented topics ranging from gay nightlife in Amsterdam toOlaf’s highly stylized photos, with lighting often influenced by Dutch master painters Rembrandt van Rijn and Johannes Vermeer, were exhibited at galleries around the world during a career spanning decades."The recovery seemed to be going very well. He suddenly became unwell on Wednesday morning and CPR was to no avail. We're going to miss him terribly," it added.
