CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Browns GM Andrew Berry said on Wednesday that it was an ‘easy decision’ for Deshaun Watson to rest his bruised right shoulder Sunday against the Ravens when it became evident during the pre-game warmup that he couldn’t drive the ball.
He noted that Watson went from ‘not being able to list his shoulder’ after taking a hard shot in the Titans game, to genuinely believing he could play late in the week. “Experience is a hard teacher because it gives the test first and the lesson afterwards,” Berry said. “Certainly challenging circumstances. That is the role of the backup ... we’ll continue to learn from it and move forward.”* He noted that the Browns have turned the ball over 10 times in their first four games, and that they’ve lost the turnover battle in all four games. They’re lucky to be 2-2 considering that most games are lost when the turnover battle is lost.
