John Dennehy, the founder of Mi Primer Bitcoin told Cointelegraph that when the program first started two years ago, “one of the dreams was to educate a nation. This is a significant step toward that.”
He said training for the pilot program begins on Sep.7 with assistance from Bitcoin Beach. The Bitcoin diploma program will be taught to 150 public school teachers from 75 schools to provide them with a “base knowledge” of Bitcoin.
After the initial training, Dennehy said the teachers will return to their own schools and teach from the curriculum created by the Ministry of Education. “If successful,” he said, “the program will be rolled out to every school in the country next year.” In a recent interview with Bitcoin Beach, its community leader Roman Martínez told Cointelegraph that overSalvadoran teenager becomes Bitcoin teacher, no longer earning ‘6 dollars a day’
