El San Luis del entrenador brasileño Gustavo Da Silva, vencedor el viernes por 3-2 del Mazatlán, se confirmó como líder del torneo Apertura 2023 del fútbol mexicano, al concluir este domingo la novena jornada del campeonato.

Javier Güemez y los brasileños Leo Bonatini y Vitinho convirtieron por el cuadro de casa y el marfileño Ake Loba anotó un par de veces por el Mazatlán, que fue de menos a más y presionó al local en los finales del duelo.

Toluca se fue por el empate; en el 35 estuvo cerca de igualar, pero Valdés salvó la meta de su equipo, a punto de ser vulnerada por un cabezazo del argentino Tomás Belmonte. El francés André Pierre Gignac anotó dos veces para encabezar la goleada del campeón Tigres UANL, tercero de la tabla, completada con una diana de Diego Lainez.
