The massage parlor on Appian Way had been raided before in 2018, police say.
El SOBRANTE — For the second time since 2018, police here have raided the same massage parlor, which was believed to be facilitating prostitution, according to recently released court records.
In October 2018, the Contra Costa Sheriff’s office announced it had “shut down” the massage business on 4428 Appian Way and arrested seven people in raids there and at a nearby massage parlor on San Pablo Avenue. But last year, the Appian Way parlor once again became the subject of a sex trafficking investigation, culminating with a police raid last February.
It all started last November, when a man reported he’d paid for a massage there, but that his masseuse offered him sex for $200 and continued to solicit him even after he said no and got up to leave. In 2018, a deputy paid a masseuse $140 for sex and subsequently arrested the parlor’s occupants when his offer was accepted, court records show.
