An elderly man in New York City shot and killed a man during an armed robbery attempt Wednesday, authorities said. The shooting occurred at about 2 a.m. in Queens when the 65-year-old man was approached by a younger man armed with an 'unknown object.'

The elderly man was taken in for questioning by authorities, but no charges against him have been confirmed.
