I was a college freshman when AIDS was first discovered. I remember the sickening things that society was saying about gay men in particular. HorrifyingAS THEY LAY DYING. I went to P- Town for a whale watch and parents were keeping their kids home or sending them with lysol to wipe down stuff before they touched it. When I say hysteria, I mean hysteria.be publicly seen employing,families in the hospitals.
Magic Johnson caught it and it was like the world stopped, because...holy shit....anyone can get it now. . That’s really the time I remember the focus shifting to empathy and working to do something to slow it or stop it. So, to hear someone like DaBaby makes jokes like it’s something that doesn’t exisit, or that people are still suffering from ....it’s awful.
