Later on, Emma was involved in surprising singer Adele by reuniting her with her former English teacher, Miss McDonald, whom Adele hadn't seen since childhood.
The actress had asked Adele whether there had been an important figure or role model in her life who had inspired her and 'protected her from the trials and tribulations in life', to which Adele had credited her English teacher, Miss McDonald. Emma then announced that Mrs McDonald was in the crowd, and Adele and Miss McDonald enjoyed an emotional reunion on stage.
