“I think there is a time and place for that, too,” Nathan Eovaldi told Bradford. “Maybe if we were doing a little better maybe we would be doing it, but you can’t be losing and playing Fortnite in the clubhouse.”The Red Sox’ players have long embraced the game that’s been embraced by more than 250 million people world wide.
Given its pop-culture prevalence, this is far from the first time “Fortnite” has found itself in the sporting world’s crosshairs for absorbing so much time from athletes. In March, Philadelphia’s Carlos Santana smashed a TV when he found his teammates playing while the Phillies were in the middle of a game. Toronto Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo announced around the same time that his team would have a “video game curfew.
