Police and public officials pointed to his repeated arrests, some arguing he benefited from flawed laws that churned him back to the streets
An Escondido man who amassed as many as 12 arrests in two years was sentenced this week to prison after police say he was found with a ghost gun and more than 200 fentanyl pills.
Officials say Blas was on parole when he was arrested seven times in 2020, including on drug and weapons charges and evading police. According to Escondido police, he had been released from prison in 2019 and was being monitored through a program created by the passages of Props 47 and 57.
