LONDON - Slovenian student Kevin Siggy Rebernak secured a place on the McLaren esports team on Saturday after emerging from hundreds of thousands of entrants to win the Shadow Project final.
The six included 33-year-old German gamer Jan Saathof, who uses a wheelchair and competed without pedals on a specially adapted rig. More than half a million gamers entered last year’s competition and more were expected for the 2019 version. “That’s something which we are actively looking to do for 2020. We’re big fans of the W Series and we talk to those guys quite often... we’d love to see some more women in motorsport.”
