EU Council President Donald Tusk accuses British PM Boris Johnson of trying to shift blame for the failure of Brexit talks
Britain published"no-deal readiness" plans to reassure businesses and voters and suppliers of medical goods. Meanwhile, EU Council President Donald Tusk accuses PM Boris Johnson of"stupid" Brexit blame game.
The government published a 155-page document entitled "No-Deal Readiness Report," which covered steps taken on key issues like borders, citizen rights, energy, industry and Northern Ireland. With just 23 days before the UK is due to leave the bloc, the future of Brexit remains deeply uncertain and both London and Brussels are positioning themselves to avoid blame for a delay or a disorderly no-deal Brexit.
"This will help to ensure that companies have the necessary customs paperwork in place for border arrangements ahead of Brexit on 31 October, if we leave without a deal," the plans said. "At stake is the future of Europe and the UK as well as the security and interests of our people. You don't want a deal, you don't want an extension, you don't want to revoke, quo vadis?" he said, using Latin for "where are you going?"
