A decadent weekend escape from the 9 to 5
old town is Es Saadi Resort. Spanning an 8-hectare park, the resort boasts two properties - the hotel and the palace with an impressive casino attached; the latter being where headed as we pulled up to the impressive pillared building after a 15 minute drive from the airport, and were greeted by friendly, white and burgundy robed doormen.
The soothing, ambient music that greeted us in the palatial lobby was to be indicative of our stay, which cruised by in a seamless haze of great service and dreamy interiors.We were guided up to our rooms in huge ornate elevators , and nestled quickly into our terracotta home for the weekend. Despite the rustic feeling of the decor, the suite contained all the usual amenities, complete with nice added touches such as his and hers sinks, a jacuzzi bath tub and a giant king sized bed.
