4 Season 1 The beginning of Succession can be difficult to adjust to. The characters have a distinct way of speech, the business world is made to seem very complicated, and the show pulls no punches to explain either aspect. Not to mention, the Roy family isn't particularly likable at first, so it takes time for viewers to connect with them. Roman Roy's development is particularly slow, though he would later become a fan-favorite character.
Succession season 3 introduces integral plot points to the show's overarching narrative. The introduction of Mattson and Jeryd Mencken carefully establishes ideas that would come to fruition in season 4, and the season also presents an interesting dichotomy between Kendall and Tom to set up the show's final outcome.
1 Season 4 Season 4 is the clear standout, solidifying Succession as a great work of television. There's so much to praise the final run for.
