Chelsea Handler’s new doc and Ryan Murphy's 'The Politician' are in; three of the 'Fast and Furious' movies are out.
Netflix Inc. is ushering in the fall with plenty of long-time favorites and binge-friendly originals.
Joining the streaming service’s NFLX, -1.02% roster in September are the second and third installments of “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy; “American Psycho”; the ninth season of “Shameless”; and Season 9 of “The Walking Dead.” Originals include Chelsea Handler’s documentary “Hello, Privilege. It’s Me, Chelsea”; a “Between Two Ferns” movie starring funnyman Zach Galifianakis; and Ryan Murphy’s “The Politician,” starring Ben Platt and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Netflix will also release “Unbelievable,” based on an article published in 2015 by ProPublica and The Marshall Project about Marie, a young woman who reported being raped by a man who broke into her apartment and later recanted her account under pressure from police detectives.
Viewers will have until Sept. 1 to catch films like “Batman Begins” and “The Dark Knight” before they leave the service. Also leaving: three of the “Fast and Furious” movies ; “Meet Joe Black”; Disney’s “Mulan” and “Pocahontas”; and “The Hangover.”Scroll on for a full list of what’s coming to Netflix in September — and what’s leaving.
